US Open 2024: Updated schedule, fixtures, results, live streaming details

Defending champs Djokovic and Gauff to open against unseeded opponents.

The US Open 2024 will once again host the best men and women tennis players at the USTA Billie Jean King National Tennis Center. The two of the venue’s largest show courts are the Arthur Ashe Stadium and the Louis Armstrong Stadium. US Open began its journey in 1881 at Newport before shifting to New York in 1914. An invitation for the women to join in was extended in 1887.

Over the next fortnight, four-time winner and defending champion Novak Djokovic, 2022 champion Carlos Alcaraz, and ATP World No. #1 Jannik Sinner from the men’s tour will make the city of New York their home. Djokovic will be looking to take that extra step into tennis folklore by winning his fifth US Open and 25th Grand Slam title.

Joining them will be the women of the WTA Tour, five-time Grand Slam titlist Iga Swiatek, last year’s finalist Aryna Sabalenka, and defending champion Coco Gauff.

Marketa Vondrousova, Ons Jabeur, and Cameron Norrie will all be sitting out of the US Open with injuries. Vondrousova and Jabeur are nursing shoulder injuries, while Norrie withdrew with a forearm injury. Rafael Nadal chose to give the US Open a miss in favour of the Laver Cup.

Three-time men’s doubles title winners Rajeev Ram and Joe Salisbury return to New York, where they will no doubt be aiming for a record fourth straight title. Gabriela Dabrowski and Erin Routliffe, who won the women’s doubles in 2023, will also turn up in New York, hoping for a repeat of their championship-winning performance from last season.

When is US Open 2024 scheduled to take place?

The US Open will get underway in its customary third-week slot in August and will run from 26th August to 8th September. The 2024 edition will see the ATP and WTA stars competing for the biggest purse in US Open history. This year, the organisers have increased the prize money to $75 million, a 15% increase from 2023.

Which city will host US Open 2024?

New York City, also dubbed the ‘Big Apple,’ is the long-time host city of the US Open and will host the 2024 edition as well.
