WWE Raw Summary and Highlights

Jey Uso

“Main Event” Jey Uso kicked off the fallout show of Monday Night Raw as he stepped into the ring, microphone in hand. The crowd erupted with chants of “one more time!” Jey obliged, and as his music hit again, the crowd began “yeeting” along with him, feeding off his energy.

The “You deserve it!” chants erupted from the crowd as Jey Uso soaked in all the love, clearly moved by the overwhelming support. Jey picked up the mic, visibly battling with his emotions as the fans continued to shower him with adoration.

As the 2025 Men’s Royal Rumble winner, Jey took a moment to thank the Cleveland crowd. He reflected on his journey, sharing how he and his twin brother came into the game nearly fifteen years ago to carry on their family legacy.

He then fast-forwarded to the pandemic era, admitting he was scared to step into the singles spotlight. He explained that tonight, standing in front of the crowd, he knew he had “got it” a nod to his newfound success in his singles career. His voice began to crack as he spoke, and tears rolled down his cheeks while the fans continued to cheer him on.

Jey credited his Royal Rumble victory to the fans and proudly declared that he was headed to the main event of WrestleMania, thanking the crowd for helping him get there.

Gunther‘s music hit as the Ring General walked toward the ring with the World Heavyweight title in his hand. Gunther picked up the mic and stated that he might offer his congratulations, but he was disappointed because the possible matchup didn’t excite him.

The Ring General went off on Jey, claiming Jey couldn’t even tie his shoes, and went on to say that he refused to do ‘this’ again with Jey. The Champion stated that beating Jey at Mania does nothing to his legacy and asked Jey if he chooses him, every week is going to be ‘hell.’

Gunther said he was going to put Jey down like a ‘diseased dog.’ The Champion reminded Jey to consider his option and went to leave, but Jey interrupted and stated that he would go to Friday Night SmackDown, and whoever he chooses, he’s going to Mania as the 2025 Royal Rumble winner.

Jey guaranteed Gunther that he will walk out of Mania as the WWE Champion. Jey dropped the mic and left the arena as Gunther stood in the ring.

Penta vs Ludwig Kaiser

The bell rang as Kaiser delivered instant punishment on the luchador, but Penta quickly fired back, showcasing his quickness. Kaiser fought back, trying to take control, and went off on Penta, stating that he was going to embarrass him.

Penta sent Kaiser flying off the top rope, and as Ludwig stepped back to the edge, Penta tried to attack, but Kaiser thwarted the move with a big chop, following it up with a Death Valley Driver.

The two stars exchanged chest chops in the middle of the ring, with Ludwig once again set over the top rope. Penta followed it up with a suicide dive through the top rope. Back inside the ring, Penta landed a crossbody and went for the cover, but Ludwig kicked out.

Kaiser caught Penta into a rolling senton and went for the cover, but the luchador kicked out. Penta looked for the finish, delivering the Penta Driver and going for the cover One, Two, Three! Penta defeated Ludwig Kaiser.

After the match, Jackie Redmond stepped into the ring to talk to Penta about what the WWE Universe can expect next. Penta started to speak, but suddenly Pete Dunne’s music hit, and he made his way down the entrance ramp.

Seizing the distraction, Ludwig Kaiser attacked Penta from behind, ambushing the luchador as the crowd erupted in boos. Kaiser stepped out of the ring, sizing Dunne up for a moment before leaving the arena.

Backstage

Finn Balor stepped into the locker room where Liv Morgan, Raquel Rodriguez, and Dominik Mysterio were talking. Balor stated that everything falls to pieces when he’s not around, especially since he had to take time off to recover from his injury.

Balor then went off on Dominik Mysterio, saying maybe “Dirty Dom” needed a babysitter. Furious, Balor claimed that not only did Dominik waste their tag title shot, but he also got JD McDonagh hurt.

Liv Morgan quickly defended Dominik, stating that it was the War Raiders who hurt JD McDonagh, not Dominik. Morgan also revealed that Dominik did, in fact, get him an Elimination Chamber qualifying match. Balor asked, surprised, if he really did, to which Dominik replied that he did because “they are family.”

Charlotte Flair

Flair was inside the ring, microphone in hand, as the Cleveland crowd gave a mixed reaction, with many fans booing her. She reflected on her journey back from injury, revealing that there was a time when she didn’t know if she would make it back in time for WrestleMania.

The crowd continued to boo, but Flair embraced it, stating that it didn’t change the fact that she was the greatest WWE Superstar in the history of the industry. She called on the crowd to boo her louder. Flair added that when she was able to walk down that aisle again and punch her ticket for Mania, Rhea Ripley’s music hit, signaling the arrival of the Women’s World Champion in Cleveland.

Rhea Ripley – Charlotte Flair

Ripley stepped into the ring, and Flair seemed to say, “Hello old friend!” Flair then stated that she was trying to have a moment with Cleveland, but she couldn’t help herself “Hello, Mami.”

Ripley reminded her that this was her show now, and there was a real possibility that they could go to war again. She admitted that she respected Flair and pleaded with her to pick her, reminding Flair that the last time they fought, Ripley defeated her.

Flair fired back, saying that the first time they battled at Mania, she was the one who beat Ripley. Flair continued, stating that she had nothing but time. She planned to go to NXT to see if Giulia could inspire her, then head to SmackDown to see if Tiffany could.

Charlotte then added that Rhea had jumped the gun, coming in and spoiling Flair’s moment, showing that Rhea was still “just a kid.” Ripley responded, saying that Flair calling her just a kid only proved that Flair didn’t respect her. Rhea pleaded again with Flair to pick her, so she could beat the respect into her.

Jackie Redmond was with Sami Zayn, asking about his failed attempt at the Royal Rumble and his upcoming clash with CM Punk in the Elimination Chamber qualifying match.

Zayn stated that he really thought he was going to win the Rumble with all that momentum, but now the only thing on his mind was his clash with Punk. Redmond went on to ask another question, but Zayn seemed distracted, telling her he would finish it later. He then walked off and confronted Jey Uso.

Jey Uso clarified that he wasn’t aiming for Zayn, and Sami hugged him, telling Jey that he did this all by himself. Zayn stated that this moment was his, and no matter who he chose, it didn’t matter because he had come a long way.

Jey embraced Zayn back before leaving, and then Karrion Kross arrived, continuing his mind games by asking Zayn what it was like living while others lived his dreams. Zayn warned Kross that they would have a problem if Karrion tried to get in his way. Kross fired back, stating that he didn’t want to be a problem, but if he decided to be, Zayn would have to deal with it.

Rhea Ripley was backstage when she ran into Iyo Sky, who mentioned that maybe they would meet at WrestleMania.

Iyo Sky left, but out of nowhere, Liv Morgan attacked Sky. Ripley quickly darted in to rescue her, and Morgan retreated as Rhea checked on Iyo. Suddenly, Raquel Rodriguez attacked Ripley, and Liv Morgan joined in, mocking both Ripley and Sky as they struggled to regroup.

New Day (Xavier Woods & Kofi Kingston) vs LWO (Dragon Lee & Rey Mysterio)

The bell rang as the LWO showcased their quickness, taking control of the match early. Woods and Kingston joined in to batter Mysterio. Woods went for an attack, but Mysterio retaliated and tagged in Lee, who took out Woods with a brutal kick and went for the cover, but Woods kicked out.

Kofi became the official man in the ring and battered Lee, but Lee slipped out underneath and landed a double kick. Suddenly, Logan Paul’s music hit, and the Maverick entered the arena as the match continued. Xavier Woods capitalized on the distraction, pushing Mysterio off the steel steps.

Paul pointed towards Mysterio, who was lying flat on the concrete floor, laughing. Woods took control, battering Lee, and tagged in Kingston. Logan Paul went off on someone in the crowd as Kingston pounded Lee with multiple shots. Woods tagged in and landed a brutal flying stomp to the back of Lee’s neck while Lee was stuck on the second rope.

Lee fired back with a sitdown powerbomb as the crowd rallied behind him, managing to tag in Mysterio. Kofi was tagged in as well, and Mysterio took back control, setting Kofi up for the 619, but Woods intervened just in time to remove him.

Mysterio then took out Kofi ringside, and Rey faced off with Logan Paul. Rey pushed Paul, sending him crashing into his chair. Mysterio and Lee took out The New Day ringside, and Mysterio stepped back into the ring to finish the match.

Logan Paul interfered, pulling Rey by the legs. The official was distracted, addressing The New Day. Kofi seized the opportunity, landing Trouble in Paradise on Mysterio and winning the tag clash against the LWO.

Roman Reigns

The promotion recapped the attack by Seth Rollins on Roman Reigns. Michael Cole provided an update, stating that they didn’t have a medical update on Roman Reigns at the moment, but they would provide more information as soon as they received it. Cole also added that Reigns would be out of action indefinitely.

Cath Kelley was backstage with CM Punk as she asked about the silver lining, where he would get the chance to rectify things tonight against Sami Zayn in the Elimination Chamber qualifying match.

Punk cut a promo, apologizing to Sami Zayn’s fans, but stating that he would win the match and go on to the Elimination Chamber, where he would ultimately win.

As Punk walked off, Kelley delivered a promo highlighting the importance of the qualifying match tonight between Zayn and Punk, emphasizing how crucial it was for both competitors.

Liv Morgan vs Iyo Sky – Elimination Chamber Qualifying Match

The bell rang as Iyo Sky went off on Liv Morgan, delivering punishment for the cowardly attack backstage. Morgan fought back, but Sky thwarted the attack and rallied the crowd. Liv used Sky’s momentum, pushing her out of the ring. Iyo went to the top rope, but Raquel Rodriguez caused a distraction, helping Morgan push Sky off the top rope.

Morgan went for the sunset flip powerbomb, but Sky held onto the rope. Sky then landed a German suplex on the concrete floor ringside. Sky took out Morgan with a springboard moonsault, then brought Liv back into the ring. She went to the top rope, but Morgan caught her mid-air with a codebreaker. She went for the cover, but Sky kicked out at two.

Sky went for another moonsault, but Morgan got her knees up. Iyo went for a German suplex, but Raquel tried to rally Liv. Rhea Ripley darted into the ring and attacked Raquel, leading to a brawl between the two. Liv Morgan pulled Ripley by her hair, which caused Ripley to attack her. The referee called off the match, which resulted in Liv Morgan winning the qualifying match.

Ripley stepped into the ring and went off on Morgan and Raquel, who retreated backstage. Ripley then tried to calm Sky down, who was visibly upset with her.

Backstage

Cath Kelley was backstage with the WWE Tag Team Champions, the War Raiders (Erik & Ivar), asking them what’s next for them. Erik and Ivar praised JD McDonagh for his performance the previous week in the title clash, showing respect for his effort.

Suddenly, Chad Gable walked in, accompanied by The Creed Brothers and Ivy Nile. Gable went off on the War Raiders, calling them pathetic champions. He pointed toward the Creed Brothers, claiming that they were the real champions.

Erik and Ivar fired back, stating that Gable and his team should prepare for war as they left. Gable, unfazed, stated that he was leaving, but when he came back, he wanted to see Ivy Nile with the Women’s IC title and the Creed Brothers with the tag team gold. He told them not to disappoint him.

Cathy Kelley was backstage with General Manager Adam Pearce, asking him about the news he wanted to share. Pearce stated that the transfer window was closing, but he managed to secure one more star before it did. He then announced that the new member of the Monday Night Raw roster was none other than AJ Styles.

The IC Champion, Bron Breakker, arrived and asked Pearce if he liked AJ Styles. Pearce replied that everybody liked Styles. Breakker fired back, stating that Pearce should keep Styles away from him. Breakker then asked if Pearce had forgotten about the IC title, and with that, the two stars left to talk business.

Seth Rollins

Seth Rollins picked up the mic and greeted the crowd before addressing the 2025 Royal Rumble. He admitted that it stung a little to lose but expressed happiness for Jey Uso. Rollins then shifted focus to CM Punk, stating that Punk lost the Rumble and his chance at WrestleMania, which he found satisfying.

Seth mocked Punk for being dumped by “the idiot” Logan Paul. Next, Rollins talked about Roman Reigns, mentioning that the OTC (The Tribal Chief) lost the Rumble and might not be heading to Mania. Seth revealed that Reigns was hurt, and while WWE or Paul Heyman wouldn’t tell the fans, he would.

Seth proudly claimed to be the one who hurt Reigns. The Visionary saved the best for last, reflecting on his own loss in the Rumble. While it hurt, Seth noted that there were many paths to Mania, with one of them leading through the Elimination Chamber.

Rollins then revealed that he had a qualifying match in a few weeks against Finn Balor. He wrapped up the promo by hyping up the clash between Sami Zayn and CM Punk and called Zayn to the ring, saying he had something to tell him.

Sami Zayn stepped into the ring, and Seth Rollins greeted him, calling him “his guy.” Seth acknowledged that the past had been a little shaky but emphasized that the future was in front of them. Rollins continued, calling the upcoming clash between Zayn and CM Punk a fight for Zayn’s life. He riled up Sami against Punk, reminding him that Punk had said Zayn wasn’t on his level.

Seth then reminded everyone that Zayn had headlined WrestleMania and, more importantly, was a good person something Punk couldn’t claim. Rollins encouraged Zayn to keep Punk out of the Elimination Chamber because people like him deserved to be there and should fight Seth himself.

Rollins dropped the mic and left, just as CM Punk’s music hit. The Second City Saint made his entrance and immediately went off on Rollins, calling him out. The two stars charged toward each other, but officials quickly darted in to keep them separated, though there were still a few shoves and heated words exchanged between the two.

CM Punk vs Sami Zayn – Elimination Chamber Qualifying Match

The bell rang, and the two stars clashed in the main event as Punk reminded Zayn once again that he was levels above him. Zayn and Punk exchanged shots, each trying to establish their dominance. Zayn slapped Punk repeatedly, which irked Punk, leading him to counter with a brutal chest chop.

Zayn retaliated with one of his own, and the crowd erupted in a “This is Awesome!” chant. Punk darted toward Zayn, but Sami moved out of harm’s way, causing Punk to crash into the ring post. Zayn then went for the Helluva Kick, but Punk quickly rolled him up for a pin.

Zayn kicked out at two, and Punk transitioned into an Anaconda Choke. Sami refused to quit, managing to reach the ropes to break the hold. Sami lined up for the Helluva Kick again, but Punk dodged and attempted the GTS. Zayn, however, managed to roll Punk up into a cover. One, two, Punk barely kicked out at the last moment.

Punk lifted Zayn again, setting him up for the GTS, but Zayn countered with a powerful exploder suplex right near the ring post. Zayn quickly called for the Helluva Kick, but Punk intercepted and hit the GTS instead. One, two, three!! Zayn, showing mutual respect, shook Punk’s hand, a rare show of camaraderie between the two. But suddenly, Kevin Owens emerged out of nowhere, attacking Zayn. Owens shoved Zayn, causing him to crash into Punk.

Despite being banged up from his brutal ladder match against Cody Rhodes earlier, Owens was relentless.
